The Quality Manager will directly handle all aspects of the company's quality system. This includes establishing strategic plans, policies and procedures to ensure quality improvements.

  • Setting policy, strategy, and implementation of overall direction for all quality functions and programs, including design and quality assurance, product quality, supplier quality, product reliability and customer quality.
  • Manage the quality department consisting of  auditors, technicians, supervisors,  engineers, and warrantee representatives
  • Establish, implement, and report progress on goals and objectives for department staff.
  • Establish and meet departmental budget.
  • Lead, organize and attend meetings with appropriate personnel, customers and vendors, as appropriate, to resolve quality or warranty issues and customer dissatisfaction.
  • Engage the new product development process, while being a  champion for process and design quality.
  • Provide analytical design analysis tools/services for improved design quality.
  • Investigate product quality deviations and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage quality assurance activities for the introduction of new products utilizing (APQP).
  • Act as liaison between company and vendor in matters related to vendor quality assurance problems.
  • Analyze quality, warranty and report data for unfavorable trends and develop action plans to address root cause of issues.
  • Review supplier submitted PPAP documentation and approve or work with supplier to resolve issues.
  • Manage tool calibrations, layouts, troubleshooting, and inspector training.
  • Use performance evaluation and prediction to improve the safety, reliability and maintainability of products and systems. 
  • Recommend and establish test and procedures for assuring product reliability.
  • Serve as liaison between engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to assure quality and reliability.
  • Assist in the development of business process and production scorecard to identify COPQ opportunities for cost reduction efforts
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers to reduce production process variations and waste reduction through the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Assess and develop project hand-off strategy to Manufacturing Engineers and Operational Excellence Engineers.
  • Fulfill Federal government regulatory requirements for reports through preparation and submittal of reports.
  • Ensure compliance with material specification and process controls to obtain maximum quality at minimum cost.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree - required
  • Lean Six Sigma - preferred
  • 5-7 years of quality leadership experience 
  • Must have experience using quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, and SPC
  • Demonstrated success in training and developing quality leadership within the department
