The Human Resources Generalist/Benefits Administrator is responsible for performing, as part of a team, various HR Operations duties, including company policy implementation, HR operations and administration, recruiting, employee relations, special projects, etc. They will work closely with the COO to support the administration of employee benefits plans. 

  • Member of a team that implements human resources policies, plans, and procedures across all company departments and personnel
  • Supports the administration of compensation programs and HR activities through the related to payroll review and approval process
  • Conducts and/or supports recruitment efforts for various open positions, including revenue-generating and support positions, and intern and temporary employees
  • Conducts and continually improves the new-employee orientation process, reducing new hire time to productivity and promoting culture
  • Assists in evaluation of established department goals and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency
  • Responsible for the update and maintenance of  human resource information system, employee electronic and paper records management
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment law
  • Supports benefits plan administration for all company sponsored benefits programs and processes, including annual Open Enrollment, new hire enrollment, employee life events and administration of FSA accounts
  • Performs payroll reconciliations and audits of benefits programs
  • Works with the COO to ensure plan compliance with company and IRS regulations
  • Provides participant support and education regarding eligible expenses, account balances and claims, enrollment and change deadlines
  • Maintains employee confidential records while adhering to HIPPA requirements
  • Processes COBRA notifications and other employee communications as required  
  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a generalist capacity, and at least 3 years’ experience in benefits administration in a corporate organization
  • Must be knowledgeable about healthcare reform and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience maintaining benefits programs with vendors
  • Strong understanding of local and federal employment laws
  • Proficient with various HRIS and document management systems
  • Prior experience working with professionals and/or experience in a service sector business preferred.
